Your graduation thesis or Internship
As a graduate at Deloitte Risk Advisory, you mainly focus on writing your graduation research or thesis assignment. You receive intensive support from one or more Deloitte supervisors. You can always ask for advice or content related feedback. You can use the knowledge and expertise within Deloitte and you can make use of the (often extensive) network of your supervisor.
In addition to your thesis, you have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at our clients. You will have the opportunity to gain more experience within the Risk advisory department. Currently we are looking for students who want to graduate within (IT) assurance. We have various possible assignments (see below), but are in particular curious about your own ideas.
Our assurance team
As an Assurance team, we focus on executing risk management assignments with a focus on IT processes and systems. For example, we test which IT risks can influence the financial reporting, we map the possible consequences, review the current control measures and investigate which risks actually have occurred and what the impact is. We do not stop at the factual reporting about the identified risks, but also provide the client with concrete advice that matches the risks, the organization, the people and the way of working.
Mobile security for ERP (SAP) environment
Mobile technology occupies an increasingly important position within the business community. Users have been used to mobile access and apps for some time to retrieve real-time information anywhere and anytime. It is therefore no surprise that organizations are looking to ways to unlock financial information via mobile devices and, for example, to conduct approval processes via apps. This raises an important question, are additional measures needed to cover related security risks? You will investigate the technical and application infrastructure used for SAP mobile solutions to determine which risks exist in this infrastructure and how you can control them
Blockchain technology: what does blockchain mean for an IT audit?
Blockchain is a decentralized data structure in which data can be recorded in an unchangeable way. Blockchain technology is seen as ‘The Next Big Thing in the tech world and is even compared by some professionals to the rise of the internet. In addition to the financial sector, blockchain can affect several industries such as Real Estate and Tax & Legal. This raises questions that address the risks surrounding Blockchain and how this affects the current IT audit approach. In your research you will investigate which controls are (extra) relevant, and which are no longer needed as soon as a blockchain solution is implemented.
Agile, Scrum and DevOps in organizations: what is the influence on IT controls?
To be competitive, organizations are looking for a fast and flexible way to develop their technological resources and products. Many organizations want to achieve this by implementing Agile, Scrum or DevOps. During an IT audit we look at change management within the IT environment of an organization. You will investigate the influence of Agile, Scrum and DevOps methodologies on the control of changes within an IT environment, and the related IT controls.
‘Cloud’ For ERP environments: a security risk
Cloud solutions have been used for some time, for both consumer and professional -applications. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is generally offered through traditional architectures. Several suppliers have recently announced that they will make their ERP solutions in the (near) future available via cloud solutions. Your research focuses on the question of what the impact is in terms of information security and controls testing, in particular for SAP.
