Refugee Pathways: Empowering Careers, Embracing Opportunities
At Deloitte, we believe that everyone has their own skills, talents, and unique value, acquired through their journey. We also know that there are challenges that come with seeking refuge in a new country, and recognize that it can be difficult to rebuild your life in a completely new environment. Therefore, we would like to help through the initiatives listed below. These initiatives are specifically aimed to help refugees further develop themselves and better position themselves in the job market.
Deloitte Future Academy
The Deloitte Future Academy, in collaboration with Foundation New Dutch Connections and the Deloitte Impact Foundation, supports refugees in building networks and developing personal skills to pursue their careers in the Netherlands. Through interactive workshops, soft and hard skill training, and personal coaching, participants learn how to integrate into the Dutch working culture and more about Deloitte at the same time.
Duration: 10 weeks
Frequency: Once a week
Locations: Deloitte offices in Rotterdam, Utrecht, or Amsterdam
Registration: Through affiliated partner New Dutch Connections (registration link provided when openings become available)
Opportunity School
We offer a 4-week learning program to empower refugees who have relevant job experience and/or a bachelor's degree in business or IT related fields, to adapt their skillset and expertise to match the Dutch/European labour market demand and thereby boost their employment opportunities.
Duration: 4 weeks
Frequency: Two or three days per week
Location: Deloitte office in Utrecht
Participants will receive training in areas that are relevant to them and to the job market. The knowledge gained throughout the program can be utilized in the Future Academy program, where participants receive a personal coach and the possibility to network.
Note: It is not mandatory to participate in the Deloitte Future Academy after the Opportunity School.
Data Engineering Bootcamp: Spike-Up
SpikeUp.AI is a foundation that empowers and enhances the skills of refugees, enabling them to unlock their full potential by facilitating their entry into the data and AI industry and the Dutch labor market.
The foundation provides comprehensive training and skill development programs in the area of AI & Analytics, as well as access to a wide-ranging professional network to help secure internships, projects and employment opportunities. Deloitte Impact Foundation is one of the SpikeUp.AI partners, helping to realize their mission. Through this partnership, Deloitte supports with the program coordination, recruitment and provides various mentorships and training programs.
Duration: 8 weeks
Frequency: Bi-weekly facilitated training sessions on Saturdays
Location: Amsterdam
Format: Includes self-study component and coaching sessions
